Modern Foods Lack Quality

Until the turn of the Twentieth Century, there was little quarrel about the nutritious qualify of food.  Fruits and vegetables were grown on organic, fertile soil.  Fertilizers were used, but they were NATURAL.  Sprays and insecticides were unknown, and natural biological methods were used to protect against insect infestation.

Meats, whether from cattle or poultry, were also healthful and organic.  Artificial growth hormones were unknown.  Feed was natural and healthy and the synthetic chemical feeds were also unknown.  Drug administration to animals was unheard of.

Refined products were rare and eaten as a luxury by a minority of the population.  Foods were free of chemical additives, preservatives, artificial colours and flavours and other processing methods used in modern methods of mass production.

Whole foods were eaten fresh, satisfying the appetite with a powerhouse of dynamic, good nutrition.  With the emphasis on natural foods there was an abundance of good health for growing youngsters and mature adults.  It was a way of life enjoyed by almost everyone, now envied by our modern synthetic generation.

With the increase in population and prosperity, the need for food increases.  Smaller farms are being absorbed by bigger farms until they become factories of chemically controlled food production.  Agriculture is big business.  Organic fertilizers such as composted vegetable wastes and animal manure take up "too much time" in enriching the soil.  Speed is essential.  Instant fertilization with chemicals produces forced and speedy growth, but also creates an imbalance in both the plants and soil.

This causes a problem with insects which Nature designed to eliminate sick growth.  Poisonous insecticides are used and stronger and stronger sprays required as immunity is built up.  Herbicides and insecticides penetrate more than just the soil.  They pollute the foods you eat and contaminate feed for livestock.  Increasing amounts of poisons are stored in the human body fat - presenting an accumulating threat to health.

Agricultural-businessmen cannot afford to wait for foods to ripen in the sun.  They order them to be picked green and subject them to various dyes, artificial colours, gases or sprays, to appear ripe.  Waxes, fungicides and other harmful processes extend shelf life.  Bleaches, emulsifiers, preservatives, spoilage and decay disguise decay, so that poor quality foods can appear healthy and fresh.

Refining destroys many more nutrients and again, to deceive the unwary customer, a small number of synthetic vitamins (usually derivatives of cool tar) are added to products and boldly printed on the packages.  Good examples of this are white bread and many breakfast cereals.  A lot of these products will last months, or even years without deterioration!

Thousands of additives are permitted in our foods yet many have been BANNED in the USA and Europe!

Sufficient evidence of the lack of nutrition from our modern "taste and eye appealing" foods is the increase in sickness and new diseases never heard of before.

The Aborigines had almost perfect teeth until the introduction of "civilized foods".  Isolated tribes such as Hunzaland, Northern India, had an average life span of 120 years and men still fathered children and worked a full week in the fields until the age of 90!  Common diseases were unheard of - before the recent introduction of processed and refined foods.  A recent report states that near perfect health no longer exists there and only one person could be found that remained over the age of 100.

According to Paul Bragg, former nutrition advisor to the Hollywood film stars (while aged in his 90's), "It has definitely been proven by some of the greatest scientific minds in the world that there are no special diseases of old age".

The two great enemies of life are toxic poisons and nutritional deficiencies.  Every 90 days a new blood stream is built in the body by the food you eat, the liquid you drink and the air you breathe.  From the blood stream the body cells are made and nourished.

Every eleven months we have a new set of billions of body cells, and every 7 years we have an entirely new set of bones and hard tissues!  There is nothing to get old, your body is continually rebuilding itself.

Supply your body with a balance of elements, exercise (to get the blood where it is needed), rest, meditation, yoga or reiki for good health.  What you eat and do today walks and talks tomorrow.

The Germ Fallacy

Another misconception of modern times is the action of germs.  The common belief is that if a person is unlucky enough to "catch" a germ they will come down with a disease.  Nature provided germs with a purpose, to eliminate waste.  An example of this is the way bacterial action decomposes dead plants and creatures back into elements of the earth enriching it for the life of new seeds.  Flies will not live in a clean garbage can, just as harmful bacteria will not live in a clean body.  By eating pure, wholesome foods, regular elimination by the lungs, skin, kidneys and bowels, ensures the body of cleanliness and keeps in order its natural defence system to destroy alien germs..

Insufficient rest, over-eating and eating unnatural foods overloads the system so that it is not operating at its maximum efficiency and is so burdened with acid wastes of impaired metabolisms that normal antibodies are unable to multiply at a great enough number to destroy invaders.  One must concentrate on ridding the body of its waste matter and internal toxins it has accumulated through years of wrong living habits, then the cause of disease would be removed and the germs and microbes automatically disappear!
